Business Meeting-
Paradise Diner
January 17, 2010
Treasury Update- Ron B. gave a very detailed accounting of the club finances from last year to our current status.
Balance as of 1/1/09- $2,180
Balance as of 12/30/09- $3,223
He stated that our club should consider setting a goal of thirty new members for the year. This goal will help ensure that our club continues to grow.
Ron also shared with the club the
expenses related to the Holiday Party
on December 12th. The total expense
for the party was $2908. We had to use
$348 from the treasury to subsidize the
party.
Many club members agreed with
Ron’s assessment that this charge was
money well spent.
He reminded the club that the treasury
is used to fund all of the food and drink
at the Tech Sessions.
New Dealership- Mitch F. shared with the
group that on a recent trip to Vermont, he discovered a new dealership that appears to be very friendly to the BMW Community. This multibrand dealership is named Cyclewise and is located at 130 Ethan Allen Hwy (Rte 7), New Haven, Vermont. He stated they have a great selection of top brand gear but sadly, no BMW bikes or apparel.
Mitch also shared that while he was at this dealership, he learned of a great road that mighty be worth exploring- Tracy Road in Upstate New York. Local riders in the area refer to it as the Dragon of New York State.
He recommended that those attending
Americade or the BMWRA Rally should
investigate this road.
IMS Bike Show- John Z. led a discussion
regarding the upcoming bike show at the Javits Center. He shared with the group his experiences with entering his classic Kawasaki in the Vintage Japanese Club display. He stated that one of the perks of having his bike on display at the show is that he is granted free admission for the three days.
